With proper care and common sense, your Fermenting Pot will last a lifetime. Here are some tips on what to do & what to avoid.
Do not use boiling water to clean the pot. A rapid change in temperatures could cause the pot to crack.
Never pound the cabbage inside the pot. Always pound your vegetables in a separate container/bucket and only then pack them tightly into the pot using your hands. The stoneware is relatively fragile and is not intended to withstand impact.
Always clean the Fermenting Pot thoroughly between ferments.
Clean the weights thoroughly between ferments using hot water & a brush. As they are unglazed and porous, they can absorb moisture so they need to be scrubbed & left to dry before starting a new batch.
